The Cafe operates from 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week. With 26 years of experience, the establishment has an extensive amount of experience and have formed relationships with loyal customers. White House Cafe will utilize this experience to further improve business and the sustainability policy.
The targets for this goal are going to be very difficult to measure as climate change is constantly evolving and data will therefore never be specific. “Measuring resilience and adaptive capacity to climate hazards and natural disasters in all countries” is going to be more complex than just collecting the occurrences of these climatic events. Similarly, every government is capable of observing and collecting data on their progress when considering the implementation of measures in target 13.2 and of education programs and the organization of awareness campaigns in target 13.3. However, the difficulty of measuring these targets is that their assessment is based on subjectivity, except for their financial aspect.
Occupational therapy can help a person with Asperger’s thrive physically, emotionally, and socially. As previously stated, if these symptoms were to be left alone, these children and adults would be subjected to bullying, ridiculed, and social isolation due to them being naïve and having concrete views of the world resulting in being vulnerable. Through occupational therapy intervention, this cycle can be interrupted by helping the patient adjust their sensory system. This means, “gaining the physical abilities needed to succeed, acquire valuable social, prevocational, and play skills, and improve their overall ability to function.” Through this intervention, one can not only learn to succeed in the classroom but when the time comes, uphold employment.
I recently had the opportunity to join a classroom at Horseshoe Trails Elementary school and observe a boy that will be referred to as Nick. Before the observation began I was able to speak with Nick’s teacher and obtain some background information about his development over the past year, his daily issues, as well as some family history. Nick is currently in second grade and has been struggling in the classroom for a multitude of reasons. For example, he has an individualized education program (IEP). In addition, he experiences issues with speaking clearly and concisely, due to a minor stutter.
During the observation portion of this assignment, I observed in a fifth grade ELL classroom. The teacher in charge of this class is Anissa Rose. She has been an ELL teacher for many years and teaches students in kindergarten through the 8th grade. This paper will discuss whether or not the students were aware of the class language and content objective, how the teacher instructed the content and language objectives, the type of group configurations, and how the teacher accommodated for different ELP levels.
Literature Review This section will examine the history of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS). Then explain how PBIS is an important addition to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Followed by an in-depth look at what the three tiers of PBIS are and the purpose they serve. Finally the vital role of the school counselor is explored to see whether the counselor would be a good candidate to implement the School Wide Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (SW-PBIS) framework.
In Ritalin Gone Wrong, Alan Sroufe started out the article by saying that “three million children in this country take drugs for problems in focusing.” In the last 30 years, the demand for these “short term fix” drugs such as Ritalin and Adderall have been increasingly popular; these drugs are depended on for children and young adults for their basic functioning such as staying focused in school. Although these drugs provide short- term benefits to increase memory and concentration, but in the long run it could lose its effectiveness and cause serious side effects. These drugs are given to radar operators during World War II to help them focus on boring task, but now we are giving them to children and adults with Attention-deficit disorder as a way to help them focus and increase concentrate for a while. I deal with a lot of students who have attention disorders like ADD and ADHD, and there are also a lot of students with autism. The majority of kids in this room have attention disorders. This year, I currently have a student who transferred from Springfield, and she has a behavioral disorder. She can be a handful, but we’re trying to come up with ways to help her.
The student was not making progress using his current BIP, so as a team, we started a new BIP. For this goal, we used Collaborative Proactive Solutions (CPS). This was helping with his outbursts and destructive behaviors. We worked on asking for a break or to talk with someone.
Secondly, special educational programs are also useful when it comes to treating ASD. Because ASD affects people’s minds, special education programs must be used to teach them how to interact, communicate and work. Hopefully that would help them to acquire good jobs in the future. The third treatment that has been used a lot is behavioral therapy, and usually there are no real attempts for this therapy even with its great effectiveness. It focuses on making the autistic person’s surrounding environment, convenient, and how he or she is involved in it.
10. Inclusion By observing what their peers do, autistic children are able to learn appropriate behaviors from them. If students are to learn to socialize, they will be required to be present where their peers are and listen to and learn how they socialize. If students will require specialized support for academic success, teachers will need to assess the learners’ functioning in the inclusive classroom to know the types of support needed (Kluth, 2010).

Identify his positive qualities and abilities and encourage utilization of these qualities in daily activities. B. Give responsibilities that show trust from others.
