1. When I first began reading this piece of work I knew I was going to enjoy it! The reason for this was because it reminded me of Romeo and Juliet! I also realized that this story was told in the third person through an unknown person as the narrator. I also realized that towards the middle it got a bit confusing for me that sometimes I had to take a minute and go back to assure I understood everything.
Some people feel that it`s quite challenging locating differences between a written story and its film, though, however, some people find it considerably simple to detect differences between the pair. A Midsummer Nights Dream was undoubtedly great cinematic film made in 1999. However, the written play of A Midsummer Nights Dream was much more detailed and more informational. The differences I noticed were the following: The Indian boy and his role, the setting, characters and examples of similarities. First of all, the primary anomaly I noticed implies the Indian boy and his role during the piece.
Power, privilege, and the false persona that comes along with it clouded Bottom’s judgement in this passage from the play, “ A Midsummer's Night Dream,”. He went from being a mild mannered hard working weaver to becoming a spoiled, entitled aristocrat, and back. As Bottom says, “Scratch my head Peaseblossom. Where's Monsieur Cobweb?”, he is using words like monsieur that he would not be using before his change. Bottom also, has servants at his command is acting like a king commanding them to feel his ears, get him food, and do his busy work.
Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream film adaptation creates a fantastical spin on the well-known Shakespeare play. The director is able to create an effective dream-like setting with the use of projections, lighting, and puppetry. From the beginning, there is a sense of wonder created, as without word or introduction, Puck, played by Kathryn Hunter, glides onto stage and lays down on a mattress supported by branches. Puck is then lifted into the air and a large white sheet consumes the stage. Even for those familiar with the play, such as myself, it immediately commands your mind to travel to the dream world Taymor has created.
In the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Titania and Oberon show the thematic idea of complicated love, because love has its ups and downs. Oberon and Titania see each other for the first time in a while and Oberon says, “Tarry, rash wanton. Am not I thy lord?” (2.1.63). This quote shows that Titania and Oberon hate each other so much.
Hermia and Lysander felt a deep passion and followed through on their feelings with determination. Lastly, Lysander wants to spend the night close to Hermia. At this point, Lysander and Hermia have followed up on their plans and run away into the woods together late at night. “One turf shall serve as a pillow for us both. One bed, two bosoms and one troth”3 (2,2,41-42).
A Midsummer Night's Dream seems like only a dream. The plots were twisted and misinterpreted, briefly from my own personal reading. I started wondering "what is going to happen here?" The Commedia Dell' Arte archetypes or stock characters as some refer reveal behaviors in these players of Shakespeare. From other research and my classmates responses, I found that the three worlds are also the three main groups of Commedia Dell' Arte.
Midsummer Night’s Dream The Thematic Idea of Love In the play Midsummer Night’s Dream ,the couple that shows the best example of the thematic idea of love would be Hermia and Lysander. What they show us about love,as human beings,is the strong bonding,the strong love one can for take. An example to show this would be when Lysander as telling Hermia his plan, he said”If thou lovest me then,/Steal forth thy father’s house tomorrow night./And in the wood,a league without the town”(1.1.163-165).This scene shows that they are willing to break the law just so they can be together.
How do the masters do it? The great masters of the comedy in literature knew how to give a hit that will be talk about for centuries. From Shakespeare with A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Aristophanes with The Knights. All the way, “from Aristophanes to Seinfeld--comedy has involved a high-spirited celebration of human sexuality and the triumph of eros.”
If I was going to choose a seen from a movie to teach someone about the elements of mis-en-scene it would be a scene from the movie Joyful Noise. I would first tell a person the mis-en-scene are the actors, lighting, props, and costume. Basically it is anything that is used to make up a set. I would use the movie Joyful Noise because the producer did an amazing job of making the set, such as when they did their final scene they had to put in a lot of work and thought to make it look good. They had to get the lighting just right on the stage that made everyone look good, they had to get the dance movies just right to make sure that it would all fix in the screen of the camera, they had to set the stage just right where all of those people could
In the real world, love is a very fragile force. Love can be easily broken and manipulated by multiple other outside forces. In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the two most basic themes are the chaos and order that are the causes of all the actions that take place. Chaos versus order in A Midsummer Night’s Dream also is a representation of Yin and Yang. Yin, represents the bad or darkness in the world, this is the chaos in the play.
The comedies Midsummer Night Dream & The Tempest by William Shakespeare both share a common theme; love. Despite the fact that the love in both comedies were perceived slightly different, the concept of love still existed in both. The love presented in MSND was evil and dark, not being "real" at all; it was the kind of love that made people do crazy things, the sort of love that was forced by others. On the other hand, the love presented in The Tempest was pure love, totally different from the love in MSND, love that was created on its own. The love theme in both comedies happened to be similar, yet different all at the same time.

After Shakespeare adds in the fairies and magic, this night in the forest becomes something the people involved can only believe to be dream. Using the dense forest, magical beings, and irrational young love, Shakespeare creates a night that makes the audience feel as if they had witnessed a wild dream. Shakespeare uses the forest to make the night dream-like. To start off, the forest is so large that Lysander loses his way.
With many of the different scenes throughout the play, the theme of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is that love is difficult. In the play when Hermia 's father tries to tear Hermia and Lysander
