Synopsis: This film is about a love story between two people, the film divides the plot almost in half, past and the present. We see how John and Iris met and how their relationship developed, while at the same time seeing many years in the future when they are married and older and trying to cope with Iris’s Alzheimer disease. The key events in the film (thinking of this more in terms of psychology not film plot) were when Iris began to lose her train of thought and wording, when she goes through tests at the hospital and messes up several words and cannot remember who the prime minister is, when Iris forgets how to swim, when she jumps out of a moving car, when John realizes he can no longer take care of her and she is placed in a home, and when finally Iris is completely off in her own world and doesn’t know who she is. The split track plot was a technique used the advance the film. The film ends with Iris dying, and John by her side reflecting on his wonderful life with her. …show more content…
