Various books are read throughout the world these days. Although they might be made of paper and ink, they can have a huge effect on their readers. Some books empower their readers to accomplish desired goals. Others can entertain or educate their readers. A book that has made an impact on me is A Wrinkle In Time, by Madeleine L’Engle. This book is about a girl named Meg Murry, her younger brother Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin. Together they go on a journey to find Charles and Meg’s father. This book is breathtaking, incredible, and truly beautiful. In A Wrinkle In Time, Charles Wallace and Meg’s parents were scientists, but their father had been missing for over a year. He normally took business trips to conventions to discuss certain topics with other scientists but his trips weren’t as long as a year. Mrs. Whatsit tells Meg, Charles, and Calvin about the Dark Thing, an evil creature that had seized control of numerous planets, including one that incarcerates their father. Together, Meg, Charles, and Calvin travel to another dimension with the help of Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who. They travel to a planet controlled by IT, an evil discarnate brain. Charles tries to outmaneuver IT but, unfortunately, is overpowered. Meg and Calvin are transported by Meg’s father to another planet while Charles remains as a prisoner of IT. Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which appear and provide Meg with encouragement, that she has a weapon of her own that can overpower IT; love. She …show more content…
