Satire: 16 & Pregnant “Hi, I’m Betty and I’m from Jefftown, West Carolina. I live at home with my grandparents because my parents we’re too young to take care of me. I spend my day’s at home watching t.v., cooking, and lurking on social media. My boyfriend and I just recently broke up. But never mind that, I have other things to be worrying about because I’m pregnant.”
Charlotte Taft once said “Women who have abortions do so because they value life and because they take very seriously the responsibilities that come not just with birth, but with nurturing a human being”. The Editorial Board at The New York Times believes in this statement as well. The Editorial Board published an editorial on June 27, 2016 titled “A major Victory for Abortion Rights”. The article published, is about a change in Texas 's anti-abortion law and is intended for woman who can or will bear children. The editorial was created to persuade these women that if another woman who is pregnant and cannot keep the unborn child or does not want to keep the child, that these women should have the right to abort the embryo or fetus legally.
While, I do agree with half of this I believe women have the right to choose whether or not they want or need an abortion.
It is a controversial subject but the only people that are really affected by a woman’s right to choose is the woman making the decision. If a woman does not wish to continue a pregnancy or cannot support a child she should have the right to not continue with the pregnancy. A woman should have the right to choose because a woman has the right to her own privacy, she deserves a safe and sterile environment, and because her decision does not affect anyone but
Before Roe v. wade the number of deaths from illegal abortions was around 5000 and in the 50s and 60s the number of illegal abortions ranged from 200,000 to 1.2 million per year. These illegal abortions pose major health risks to the life of the woman including damage to the bladder, intestines as well as rupturing of the uterus. The choice to become a mother must be given to the woman most importantly because it’s her body, her health, and she will be taking on a great responsibility. A woman’s choice to choose abortion should not be restricted by anyone; there are multiple reasons why abortion will be the more sensible decision for the female.
It uses the words stated in the Declaration of Independence that “all citizen’s have unalienable rights,” even though the topic abortion was not discussed during the time of the drafting of the Declaration of Independence. The article then brings up how new science can show a child with an ultra-sound in the womb and the image of the baby on the screen confirms the life of the child who has a right to live. Later, it then argues the decision between Roe v. Wade should be reversed and rejected due to the fact it legalizes the murdering of unborn babies. Finally, at the end of the article it states that a generation could pass and the opinion on abortion will still matter and everyone will always have a different opinion on that controversial topic. “It is a moral issue because it confronts fundamental issues of right and wrong, of life and death,”(RNCforlife.com.)
Abortion is full of excuses, going against God’s will, and murder. America should reconsider the laws and regulations of the countries soon to be mothers. Because abortion is a deliberate termination of a human life, women should not legally have the option to choose one. Making excuses for reasons a mother can kill her baby is wrong. For example, a mother having a baby she doesn’t want is no excuse to end a life.
Whose choice is it? Organizations such as “Planned Parenthood” are telling people that abortions are completely fine for pregnant women to get. There are many “Pro-Life” groups opposed to this program. Abortion is not morally correct because it is unfair to children that do not have a choice, a fetus is still human, and killing humans is murder, and couples can prevent pregnancy with birth control or abstinence. Pro abortionists argue that women should have a choice in whether or not they want a child.
It’s her body. It’s her choice. It’s none of anyone’s business. Women’s have the right to make decisions about what to do with her body without anyone judging them. If they want abortion, then abortion they get.
She may have family and or financial problems preventing her from being able to properly care for the child. Women are forced to hear both sides of the debate and feel the intensity of a decision. Abortion is the said woman’s private decision and should not be stopped by any law. Only the woman herself knows her body, so abortion is a choice based solely on her feelings. The court case of Roe vs Wade established that
People have the right of choice. The ability to make a choice is something that is a right of every American. To be able to have the choice of whether or not to have an abortion should not be dictated by higher authority. American women have the right to choose and should be able to control their bodies and the decision that affects their lives. When the leaders of America begin to agree on the ideals of it’s citizens, society becomes much more stable and that the the American culture benefitted from the Roe v Wade Decision.
This argument preaches that women who have been raped have the “right” to have an abortion without being criticized. However, this is completely sentimental. If the rape victim decides to have the child anyways, there 's multiple emotional things that could wrongly affect the child. Often, a child produced from a rape will be put up for adoption, which can affect their future and attitude. In other cases,
Abortion is murder. The killing of a innocent human being is wrong . i don 't think abortion is right i think it s really wrong .Whether than getting a abortions you should think about putting your baby up for adoption. Also,At least 38 states have passed similar fetal homicide laws.
The reasoning of this belief is that the woman is who will have the responsibility of caring for that child and it is her body. The issue, however, with this reasoning is that it does not deal with the morality of the issue or take into consideration whether abortion is right or wrong. In Webster 's dictionary, abortion is defined as the "termination of a pregnancy often accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of an embryo or fetus. " It is the killing of an unborn child. Even though morality is hard to describe, the bulk of society complies that murder is wrong; therefore, abortion should be expressed as immoral as well.
(Tanner) Pro-choice defenders also say that it is the woman 's right to choose to have the baby or not, forgetting the baby 's rights. The life of a human being begins at the moment of conception, and it is not the fetus´s fault if the mother wasn 't ready to have a baby or if the situation in which baby was conceived wasn 't ideal. For example, if the baby is conceived by rape, the baby should not pay the consequences of other people, he or she has not done anything wrong .”Compassion for the mothers is extremely important, but it is never
