Does Abraham Lincoln deserve the accolade "The Great Emancipator?" Say why/why not. Abraham Lincoln earned a great reputation of being as the sixteenth president of the United States from the year of 1861 to 1865. He was born in February 12th, 1809 in Hodgenville, Kentucky. His family was an agricultural family, so his life and his family were very difficult. Abraham Lincoln’s mother passed away when he was ten, which is the reason why he had to move to other place to live. His Parents were illiterate, and Abraham Lincoln did not go to school very often. However, he figured out that he love law and he studied law by himself. Then, he made it come true; he became a lawyer and used his own knowledge to fight against for the freedom of the Slaves. In my opinion, Abraham Lincoln deserves to be as “the Great Emancipator”. After twenty year of working as a lawyer, Abraham Lincoln became one of the most famous lawyers in Illinois in 1850s. The advantages that helped him to be successful not only his craftsmanship, but he also always focused on justice and honest in occupational transactions. For the first time of being a candidate for joining the Congress of Illinois, he was failed. However, Abraham Lincoln was persistent and after that he was elected for four consecutive terms in the Congress from the year in 1834 to 1840. …show more content…

With his belief in his knowledge and never give up to any problem, He was able to find the way to rescue his country from the Civil war. Moreover, Lincoln was also an unique man who achieved many successful in his life and became a typical hero in history of the U.S. Although his life was very difficult, but he proved to the world that “the failure is the mother of success.” And he never gave up fighting for his country.
