Analyse the types of information systems that Aeron Coffee Shop would use.

1) Financial systems
Financial information systems would be key for Aberaeron Coffee Shop as it shows where the company is spending their money and where they are making money. It also shows what products at the coffee shop sell well, which don’t sell well allowing them to prioritise specific products like coffee types, cakes, beverages and so on over others to keep more stock of those products. If a company has a low profit margin or wants to maximise profits, they can use financial information systems to show where money is being wasted pinpointing the issue allowing them to resolve it.

It also helps keep stock of items which sell well as CRM organises records regarding what customers are buying and thinking of the products. Items which sell well will be shown and higher stock numbers should be kept like a certain type of coffee or a type of cake perhaps. Different times of the year will likely have different top sellers for example in winter, hot chocolate may be the top selling drink whereas in the summer it may be an Iced coffee. If these records are done well Aeron Coffee shop will be able to correctly time stock changes to suit customer demand which could lead to increased profits.
3) Competitor tracking
Aeron Coffee shop could use competitor tracking which is a type of consumer research where you investigate what makes the competitors company (which in this case a competing Coffee Shop in Aberaeron) more appealing to the customer. This could be stuff like lower prices, better tasting coffee or cakes etc, or just better customer service. The information gathered can then be used to improve Aeron Coffee Shop which would likely them appeal to wider customer base resulting in more sales and a better reputation.
