When my mother visits, she does influence my daughter about seeing the doctor for everything. It bothers me greatly; I tell my daughter that not all things have to be resolved by a doctor, but instead, we are capable of curing ourselves depending of course on the degree of the injury or illness. To me spanking should be the last thing a parent need to use as a punishment. I do occasionally spank my children, but only after I have tried everything else (i.e multiple warnings, time outs , and loose privileges). However, as my children gets older I am noticing that I am spanking them less because they are getting to the age where I can talk to them and reason with them more. Hi Stasea, I enjoyed your thoughtful post. You provided beneficial information about play therapy. An important part of parent-child interaction therapy (PICT) is that the parents and child interact with the counselor coaching the parents from another room (Henderson & Thompson, 2011). Another important technique associated with PCIT is that the counselor gives the parents lessons and role plays with them to provide them with important strategies to use (Henderson & Thompson, 2011). As a parent of a 6-year-old girl that was divorcing, it would be hard to work with the other parent.
You hear more and more every day about a mother or father accidentally killing their child for a small misbehavior. This is becoming more and more of a problem. Parenting children is a very difficult task, one of the most challenging things anyone will ever encounter. As Andy Smithson quoted, “The sign of great parenting is not the child’s behavior. The sign of truly great parenting is the parent’s behavior.”
Acupuncture is a complete medical practice that is focused on correcting any imbalances in the body. It began 2,500 years ago in China to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases and to improve overall health. While there is no proof yet that acupuncture modifies the flow of energy throughout the body, there is proof that it influences the activity of adenosine, which is an amino acid that becomes active under the skin to relieve pain after an injury. This may explain why pain relief is often felt after an acupuncture session. During a consultation with our specialist, you may learn if acupuncture can benefit you.

If you treat them well and teach them right from wrong, they will become strong individuals in the future. Teaching children right from wrong is the principal key in a child’s life, but many argue if some of the techniques used to punish kids are really helping them learn the correct ways of life.
