Light and air were born from darkness. The gods breathed the air of Aether. Aether is a very bright lad. Aether provided the atmosphere that surrounded the earth which mortals could breathe freely. Aether was so powerful that he could have created the entire earth. Aether is the force used by the god himself to create the universe. Aether is the god of atmosphere and light, he appears as the soul of the world. He is the material that fills the region of the universe above the terrestrial sphere. According to the legend, during daytime, Aether’s bright body is shone all over the world. Aether’s wife is Gaia, and is the spirit of earth, also known as the mother earth. In later times Aether is known as the wide space of heaven. Aether was one of the three airs. The middle air was Khaos, a colorless mist which enveloped the Mortal world. The lower air was Erebos, the mist of darkness, which enveloped the dark places beneath the earth and the realm of the dead. Aether in greek mythology is probably first mentioned by Hesiod as a figure of the highest superior Heaven. Over the years quintessence has become synonymous with alexius, medical alchemy, and the philosopher's stone itself. Quintessence was used as a medicine for many of man’s illnesses. Quintessence is the latin name of the fifth element. In greek mythology, it was a thought to be the pure essence that the gods breathed, filling the region where they lived.
