Please keep all eyes on the test and do not proceed to the next section until told to do so. From the young age of eight years old, the youth of America constantly test over absurd amounts of material. ISAT. PSAT. ACT. The list goes on and on. These tests generate infinite measures of anxiety and negative aspects. Test anxiety develops because of the pressure students feel to prepare for their future. The tests should benefit both the teach and the student. More importantly community service and leadership skills should become incorporated into a students school day. Standardized testing becomes a vast part of a students life, but do these tests pertain to the knowledge they need for life outside of school?

In the world today these tests must exist. This is because students knowledge and rank are based off of these scores. Those few aspects do not portray everything a well rounded student should aspire to become. A well-rounded student needs to have many other commendable qualities. Therefore, teachers need to start balancing their lesson plans. Testing does not give everyone a clear view of a student's potential and their capabilities. Teachers need to implement leadership and community service lessons into their plans. Those few aspects have more relevant importance to students than standardized testing does.
For some eight year olds ISAT time signals the start of overly emphasized tests. During the early ages of testing, teachers promote snack and break time to bribe students. This strategy eases young students into wholeheartedly partaking in the ISAT. These tests do not count for anything besides the practice of test taking. For students of this age, introducing standardized testing does not seem pertinent for the benefit of their
