Agriculturists are taught to advocate for their beliefs, which includes animal welfare. As stated in the quote, everyone would begin a vegetarian diet if they saw the horror of a slaughter house. With hateful words spread everyday about animal welfare and how producers are treating their animals makes it hard to continue to show how much of a strong industry it is. Agriculture is being targeted for the way they treat their animals before and during the slaughter process. Being an agriculturist, it is very heartbreaking that people think that as a whole, the industry abuses livestock, when actually they are the ones who helps life flourish. In the midst of all of the hatred, many would agree that there are some instances where animal are being abused, and not treated correctly. Those certain instances are nothing to blame the whole industry for. That would be like blaming a whole bunch of people for what one person did. I have learned through the years that many people are uneducated about the methods used for handling, antibiotics, and the slaughtering facilities.
