As human’s, most are taught early on during their childhood stage to be honesty, truthful and to always make the right decision to the best of their knowledge. As adults, one could only hope those principles remain the same. Leaders deal with different type of ethical decisions every day throughout their professional careers. “In any decision-making situation, ethical issues are either implicitly or explicitly involved. He is in a position of power, and has to make decisions that can impact and affected the hospital. “The moral foible people fear most in leaders is personal immorality accompanied by abuse and power” (Ciulla & Forsyth, 2011, p.235). Mr. Germany’s ethical beliefs, morals, values and self-discipline are admirable traits every leader should acquire. In addition, he genuinely treats all of his followers starting from the housekeeper to the Chief Executive Officer with dignity and respect regardless of the situation. “Although all of us have an ethical responsibility to treat other people as unique human beings, leaders have a special responsibility, because the nature of their leadership puts them in a special position in which they have a greater opportunity to influence others in significant ways” (Northouse, 2016, p. 337). In working closely with Mr. Germany, he has demonstrated the ability to make honest and ethical choices which can become a huge responsibility because it pertains to the finances of the hospital. When he started working with the hospital, the hospital was suffering from staggering financial losses, rapidly dwindling cash reserves, and a lack of clear direction for the future.
