Ever wonder how the telephone came to be? It was probably one of the most useful inventions made in the 1870’s. Alexander Bell and Thomas Watson were the creators of this magnificent invention. Alexander had the idea of a device that would allow for the telegraph transmission of several messages set to different frequencies (“Alexander”). Thomas Watson worked on the harmonic telegraph and a voice transmitter device (“Alexander”). Without them, the world would not have made as many technological advances. Four years after getting the idea, both Bell and Watson were successful on March 10, 1876 (“Alexander”). They both organized The Bell Telephone Company on July 9,1877 (“Alexander”). That same year, he married Mabel Hubbard, “who was a daughter of his initial financial backer” (John).
