The telephone has changed our lives forever, and we have Alexander Graham Bell to thank for that, along with many other inventions. Alexander Graham Bell was born on March 3, 1847, in Edinburgh, Scotland. His middle name “Graham” was given to him as a birthday present. He was one of three children to his parents Alexander Melville Bell and Eliza Grace Symonds Bell. However, Bell’s two brothers Melville and Edward died of tuberculosis. It removed the husks from the wheat. The device used a nail brush and a paddle to connect with a wheel, in order to husk the wheat faster than doing it by hand. After inventing the wheat husker, Bell’s inventions only got bigger and better, and his impression on chemistry and science would change the way scientists work forever.
Alexander Graham Bell had a passion for shaping the future, so in 1871 he drifted his focus on the human and voice and began to work on a new device. Later on, we will know this device to be called a telephone. This device would allow for the telegraph transmission of several messages set to different frequencies. Little did we know that this device would evolve into the telephone we know today. When we think of telephone we tend to think about our smartphone. His model was far from that.
Creating the telephone did not come easy for Bell, he spent many long nights, days, weeks, months, and years perfecting his model. While Bell was experimenting on his initial invention he became interested in being able to transfer a human voice over the wire. Therefore he hired Thomas Watson to help him focus on the telegraph. Two years after he had brought Watson onto the team, they were successful; Watson had heard Bell’s voice over the wire. After his success Bell, was no longer in his father’s shadow and founded his own organization called The Bell Telephone
