On June 18, 1901, Anastasia Romanov was born. She was born in Petrodvorets, Russia. When Anastasia was only 17 her and her family were supposedly executed on July 16, 1918. Ever since the supposed execution of her and her family, there have been many imposters claiming to be Anastasia. In 1922, Anderson claimed to be Anastasia. Many people believed her but yet many people did not believe that Anna Anderson could really be Anastasia Romanov. Anna Anderson died in Virginia at the age of eighty-three in 1984. Researchers and forensic studies concluded that Anderson was not related to the Romanovs in any form. After researching Anna Anderson, researchers found out that she may have been Franziska Schanzkowska. Franziska Schanzkowska was a woman who had disappeared right before Anderson was discovered. This information concluded that Anderson’s claim had been debunked. One of the bodies that were identified as Anastasia was reburied in 1998, but in 2007, an additional two bodies were discovered.
