Today we are gathered to mourn the loss of Amanda Bynes’ career. Amanda was born on April 3, 1986 in Thousand Oaks, California. Her acting career started at age 7 when she was cast in a Nestlé’s candy commercial, and then she went on to star in the Nickelodeon show All That. After becoming known for her high-energy characters on All That, she was given her own skit based comedy show called The Amanda Show. Her show ran for three seasons and earned her three Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. At age 15, Bynes jumped onto the big screen starring in the 2002 hit film Big Fat Liar with fellow teen actor Frankie Muniz. That fall, she became the co-star in the series What I Like About You, which ran for multiple seasons. In 2003, she landed the lead role in the movie What a Girl Wants. Amanda was slowing making a bigger and bigger name for herself, and earning bigger and better roles. In 2006, she starred in She's the Man, co-starring with Channing Tatum. In 2010, she decided to play against the grain of her past roles and took the role as a bible-thumping student in Easy A. Soon after her role in Easy A, Bynes decided to take a break from acting because of being in the business since she was a young child. She was arrested after she was seen smoking marijuana in the lobby of her New York City apartment building and later allegedly threw a bong out of her apartment window. She was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, marijuana possession and tampering with evidence.
