American Education System Failing

A Proper Education Despite how important an American education is, it is not as helpful as it used to be. While other countries systems are succeeding, America’s system is failing. The American education system has an 80% graduation rate, however, more students are dropping out every year. While 80% of students are receiving diplomas, less than half of those students claim they are unable to read proficiently, and even solve mathematic problems. American students deserve an education that gives them real world knowledge, experience, and expectations regarding authority. The United States no longer leads in school achievement. Recent international test scores have the United States ranked 27 out of 78 countries. Obviously America’s education system is failing. Failure is becoming a routine to public high schools. Once a student fails, that student is more prone to accepting failure more in the future. Why are American students failing? Many conservatives’ think its failing because of cultural and social trends, which is destroying basic classroom discipline. Classroom discipline teaches students basic communication and computational skills that are needed for college and the real world. Schools are becoming overpopulated. The problem with schools becoming overpopulated causes classes to become bigger and that means more students to teach. Classes such as mathematics, English, and science can be the hardest classes to learn for some students, and being in a classroom with thirty or more kids makes it even tougher for every student to get the individual attention that he or she needs. Not every student is the same, some need to learn in an appropriate environment that suites them.
