Has School Failed Society? Have you ever wondered why you go to school? Why you are told repeatedly that you must graduate from an outstanding college? To elaborate more,american schools have failed society, and does not educate society’s youth. By defining why american schools does nothing for children and is pointless, by refuting counter arguments of those who claim America schools provide a well rounded and adequate education and by presenting expert opinion and documented research, one will know that american schools do not properly educate children. To begin with, american schools have over 1.2 million drop out of high school, and around 25% of freshman in highschool fail to graduate within four years, according to a study done by (dosomething.org). To elaborate more youths were not shown how to manage finances, taxes, or on knowing more about current events. If youths were able to learn these real world skills, they would be in a superior position, and be more prepared for the real world. However they are not and adults such as Steven Guise states ”Instead of learning critical life skills on how to manage money, how to negotiate, or how to communicate, kids are mostly taught to memorize information. This is helpful to learn, but not at the cost of not learning critical life skills.” (deepexistence.com). Youths learn all different types of maths, on the contrary they do not learn one of the most essential math classes which financing. To add, youths in america are ignorant to current world events.
