The American Red Cross
The American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton in 1881. Barton got inspired by the Swiss-global red cross network while on vacation to Europe. When she returned to the states she made the American Red Cross to protect the war veterans that were injured during the civil war. The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization that helps people across America in times of need. Initially I thought that The American Red Cross was an organization that helps people no matter their nationality, religion or gender. After reviewing the organization in depth, I’ve concluded that this organization is a money laundering company that doesn’t tell the public where most of their donations go. Mission Statement

After further evaluation, I believe that the Red Cross pays the executives from percentages, taken out from each relief donation. No matter how hard I tried to find out how much the executives get I could not find out even the Red Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern says she does not know where most of the Humanitarian program money goes due to their complex and inaccurate accounting system. You would think that they would put a lot of effort into fraud protection and abuse do to tier lack of knowledge, but the program is the most under staffed and underfunded. “The Red Cross has about 20,000 employees, but its ethics office — which investigates waste, fraud and abuse — is composed of three people, according to the Grassley report. That is down from roughly 65 staffers after Hurricane Katrina a decade ago” (Sullivan, Laura,2016). This supports that the Red Cross is corrupt and even though they don’t know where some of their money goes they put no effort into finding
