1. Sexuality is part of the culture at Gentleman’s Sophisticate because it is a male pornographic magazine. Employees are aware of the sexual content that may or may not be published in the magazines. The reading also explains how workers reconcile the tension with the material by using humor. Many of the employees had to adjust to the norms of their workplace. One of the female editors mentioned that upon working there, she considered it torturous; however, she transformed her view from torture to funny. People talk about their own sex lives and the Dos and Dont’s of sexual interactions. The conversations at Womyn are personal and employees are open to talking about their sexuality. Womyn is sexualized but it is also a “safe environment.” There is a difference is the definition of sexual harassment. Since it is an all female environment, some feel if males were involved in their conversations, it would be sexual harassment. The rules that govern Womyn include boundaries between acceptable and unacceptable behavior. The editors are not offered training in sexual harassment, nor are they asked to sign any acknowledgement about the sexual content of their magazine. They do not have any formal sexual harassment policies. The editions saw the feminist norms and values within their workplace culture as protection against sexual harassment.Womyn is more like a dorm room because it is an open environment where employees hang out, having parties, sleepovers and dancing around. One Example is how men pick on each other by calling other men “faggots” or gay. They use homophobic comments to assert dominance over rival men. Similar to women, tradesmen make sense of tradeswomen's presence and neutralize the threat by assuming they are lesbians or likely lesbians. These men image tradeswomen as lesbians to preserve the idea of trades as “men’s work.”

2B. Another example is a woman named Vicky, who is a bit girlier. She notes that tradesmen are more likely to treat a woman who doesn’t look like as feminine on the outside as one of the guys.
