The United States culture is a mixture of different values that makes The U.S unique. In the article “American Culture: Traditions and Customs of the United States”, Kim Ann Zimmermann claims that The U.S is like a big melting pot of cultures. She claims that “The United States is the third largest country in the word with a population of more than 320 million, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Because of this, the United States is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world”(Zimmermann). This means that The American culture is a big mix of cultures which makes it unique. Moreover, in the article “An Adventure in American Culture & Values”, Marian Beane claims that Americans has values that for many people are different. They tend not to depend on anyone, not even their family. Also, Beane claims that Americans accept everyone. She claims that Americans accept that everyone is created the same way, so there is a sense of equality. In addition, Americans are very direct. When Americans don’t like something, they will tell the person right away without hesitation. In the article “American Culture”, it is explain that Americans will tell anyone what bothers them. This surprises many internationals because they are not used to see someone that direct. Americans prefer to be direct, so the problems are fix in less time. Also, Americans are pretty informal. Although it isn’t like Americans want to be informal, it is more like they are more casual. According to Marian Beane, Americans are generally informal.
