Most of them are non-diegetic sound and nonsynchronous sound. At the beginning of the scene, while the kids are walking across the field, the background music is light and quick. Which helps audience feel that they are kind of in hurry. When the shot turns to the father, the volume of the music become quieter. This shows that the father is not feeling very good.
Crunchy Granola Suite’s music is by G. Harrell ("Fosse - the Musical."). This specific piece of work is recognized by many dance critics to be one of the strongest pieces in the revue. The exciting piece, danced by twelve dancers is described as a showstopper. Two company members sing Crunchy Granola Suite: Brad Anderson and Eugene Fleming. These two members have been seen in previous numbers dancing, which is yet another example of the versatility Fosse expected from his dancers.
The music tends to play his emotions on the screen rather than against them. This is most evidenced by the music that plays after Gilbert, Arnie and Becky come back from the grocery store in the rain. Becky’s grandmother was able to get the truck started, meaning that Becky would have to leave, as the only reason Becky was even in town was because of their truck breaking down. Realizing this, Gilbert becomes immediately upset and hugs Becky, as to begin to say goodbye to her. The music still consists of the piano and guitar, but it played at a rather slow tempo and in a different key that causes the music to be more emotional, as to fit in with Gilbert’s feelings.
When the inventor died in Edward Scissorhands there was music that projected a sad mood. This helps the audience connect with the movie more and intrigues the audience more. As Edward and Kim were talking there was angelic, happy music that becomes louder as Edward and Kim hug. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, when Charlie finds the money on the ground, Burton uses happy music to project an exciting and magical feeling to the audience. In Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Edward Scissorhands Burton uses camera movements, camera angles, and non-diegetic music to set a certain mood that the audience should feel.
The sounds of the play work in a very similar fashion. Even before the play, there was a plethora of songs from the Simpsons being played while the audience waited for the production to begin. The play does have musical elements so there are many times that the dialogue calls for random spots of song. This important for the understanding the play as a whole. How Military Simulation Affected My Life April 13, 2013, the day is finally here, and I had no clue the MAKO Advanced Combat Center (MACC) would change my life for the better. The MACC is a decommissioned NIKE missile base known as KC10L, now a airsoft field and Law Enforcement training area in Lawson, Missouri. The MACC is close to forty acres, and consists of many oldlooking buildings surrounded by a chain link fence with an old security checkpoint at the gate. The buildings were made of brick and painted white with colorcoded windows and doors for identification purposes, I was shocked to see two hundred and sixty people dressed in different styles of military camouflage and equipment. Before this day, I barely knew anything about airsoft or military simulation.
Although the image elements are important, they could be considered secondary to aural effects; the feature largely relies on verbal humor, voice talent, sound effects, and script writing for success. In particular, the storyline itself revolves around the idea that the main character “speaks” in rambunctious sound effects. The sound effects drive the entire story, from the relationships and interactions Gerald has with his neighbors, to the reason as to why he becomes famous in the feature’s conclusion. Many of the punchlines come from the action of incredible explosive noises emanating from a small, young boy. In addition, the dialogue is spoken in a kind of sing-song rhyme, adding to the whimsical nature of the animation; the humorous and dramatic voice acting also helps to further accentuate the personalities of the characters, along with their exaggerated movements.

The music in this ending scene shows the contrast between the change in the relationships through the ending and beginning of the film. This is shown when “and the winner is” is played in a more upbeat, happy way during the final scenes of the film. It shows us a dramatic change in the relationships when the family is working together to get the yellow VW van started and no one is arguing or being difficult. The van starts easily and it shows us it will be a very pleasant drive home compared to the beginning of the film where the music is played slowly and sounded very dull which represented the drive to Albuquerque which was not a positive journey. You see the family struggling to cooperate and get along.

Introduction Roger’s and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music is arguably one of the most well known films that many can admit to watching at least once in their lifetime. People all around the world have found this musical inspiring, as it documents growth and hope amidst the horrors of World War II. This incredibly well written film is based on the story of the Von Trapp family who escaped Austria when the Nazis invaded it during the war.
