The internet makes things faster, but faster is not always necessarily better. The internet provides us with a way to research, a way to go deeper into topics for more information, and essentially expand the information available to us. The article, Is Google Making Us Stupid?, written by, Nicholas Carr, goes deep into exploring the effects of the internet on people. As the internet becomes part of our everyday lives we must ask ourselves what the consequences are. The access to information at anytime and anywhere through the internet is altering people's ability to develop their own thoughts which lowers their independence.
In our generation, it has become normal to share what others think rather than developing and formulating our own ideas. With an abundant amount of internet usage, studies show the development of implications in our brain such as short-term attention spans and scattered thinking. When we work online, our brains are constantly pressured to take in vast amounts of information.
