Should my school participate in an event to shut down access to the web? The answer is no, and I can prove it. In the text, “Attached to technology and paying a price” written by Matt Richtel, as well as the text, “Is Google making us stupid” by both Nicholas Carr and Peter Norvig, they talk about whether technology is making us and our everyday lives worse. Although they make some very good points as to why technology is bad, the second part is Google making us stupid by Peter Norvig has the true answer. For my first piece of evidence, technology helps us in many ways, from travel, to seeing stars. In the text, “is Google making us stupid” It directly states “Just as a car allows us to move faster and a telescope lets us see farther, access to the Internet lets us think better and faster.” With complete certainty, these technologies impact and improve our lives, some better or worse.
