Experienced times of trial and tribulations. Fought in the second greatest world war with immaculate duty and devotion to the United States. Because of his selflessness to this country Kennedy still lives on in our hearts, our minds, and in literature. The world is a tricky place, there are many different governments and viewpoints at times that can butt heads and can cause instability and potentially war. Kennedy’s mission is to bring all nations together. In a perfect world, all nations will be equal, they will get along with everyone, and there will be no fighting. But this is no perfect world. Kennedy states that “To those people in the huts and villages of half the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves” (Kennedy 1). Basically, Kennedy is saying that America is not going to stand by while other countries are in the hands of evil. America is going to stand its ground to world bullies in order to make the world a better and safer place. Writing in Newsweek, Eleanor Clift suggests, “Fifty years after Kennedy’s inauguration, the memories that linger remind us of a time when all seemed possible” (Clift 4).
