The legislative branch consists of the two houses of Congress that have been decided upon by the Great Compromise (the House of Representatives and the Senate). Joint together as one system, Congress has the powers to create laws, declare war, override veto, and impeach the president. Secondly, the executive branch—consisting of the president, vice president, and the Cabinet—has the power to carry out laws (approve), negotiate foreign treaties—such as alliances—, and can grant pardons for federal offers. Finally, the judicial branch, or the Supreme Court Justices can interpret laws, declare laws unconstitutional, and declare the president unconstitutional. Having three branches of government helps keep the government in check, and it prevents one branch becoming more powerful than the other branches.
The legislative branch is made up of the House and Senate, known collectively as the Congress. Among other powers, the legislative branch makes all laws, declares war, regulates interstate and foreign commerce and controls taxing and spending policies. Checks and balances usually ensure that no one person or department has absolute control over decisions, clearly define the assigned duties, and force cooperation in completing

This branch is known as the people's branch due to the fact that the citizens of the U.S. elect each branch member. The members of each branch has a different term limit, the House of Representatives have a two year term limit and the Senate has a longer term of six years. The legislative branch has the control of the national budget.
Each branch of government has different powers. The legislative branch consists of Congress, which is made of two houses. The House of Representatives and the Senate both must pass a law for it to be enforced. The executive branch consists of the president, the president must then sign the law into effect and enforce it. The last branch is the judicial branch; this consists of the United States Supreme Court.
This method of separation is known as “checks and balances” referring to the three branches of government the executive, legislative, and judicial branch. The legislative branch is supposed to be the stronger one. It consists of the Congress divided in two chambers: a House of Representatives and a Senate. The members of the House of Representatives are elected by the people and have the responsibility of encouraging popular consent and the Senate is elected by the state legislatures. The executive branch consists of the president, who has the power to receive international ambassadors, negotiate treaties with acceptance of the Senate, and appoint major personnel.
Under the Articles, only Congress had the controlling power as unicameral government. However, under the Constitution, there are three branches comprising the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judicial. The Executive is referring to the United States President in terms of practicing the laws. The Legislative means that the Congress and the Senate are responsible for making laws. In terms of Judicial, the Supreme Court and Federal Courts are created to interpreted the laws.

Secondly, is the House of Commons, which is made up of elected officials. The Senate is consisted of 105 members that are recommended by the Prime Minister and the appointed by the Governor General. The members of the Senate can be made up of business people, lawyers, doctors, hockey players, and many more, because of the variety of experience from the individuals of senators gives a better understanding of the people they represent and of the problems that Parliament must try to solve.

Stewart’s shops are located across upstate eastern New York and southern Vermont. They originated from Percy and Charles Dake in 1921 in the town of Greenfield, New York where they set forth making Dake’s mouthwatering, irresistible rich ice cream. The two brothers started Saratoga dairy just fourteen years later in Saratoga Springs, New York. In 1938, Percy and Charles bought an ice cream production facility in Ballston Spa, fifteen minutes south of Saratoga Springs, from Donald Stewart. They began selling directly to the public, which was soon after considered the first Stewart’s shop.
The legislative branch is made up of the House of Representatives (lower chamber) and the Senate (upper chamber). These two chambers are apart of Congress - which composes the legislature. The judicial branch explains laws and applies them. Lastly, the executive branch consists of the President, Vice President, Electoral College and the Cabinet members. While many may argue that the President is the solitary leader, however, the President is the head of state and head of government.
The other part of the puzzle consists of the Executive branch of government. This branch consists of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet. The Prime Minister runs the Cabinet; he/she controls the ministerial appointments (Parl., 2012). Being responsible for government policy, it is crucial for the Cabinet to have confidence of the House of Commons (Parl., 2012). Not everyone can be a part of Cabinet, so the Ministers who are chosen by the Prime Minister are “Members of House of Commons… and at least one Senator… who serves as the Leader of the Government in the Upper house (Parl., 2012).
