Critique of the Thomas Nelson Community College Library
The Library/Learning Resource Center is multi-faceted offering students a wide range of tools and informational materials needed to be successful in their academic endeavors. The Library/Learning Resource Center provides students with knowledgeable staff and faculty, easily accessible educational materials, Instructional technologies and support services to aid and enhance the overall experience of the student.

The first is on the entrance door to the library, the second is located at the front desk and you can find the hours of operation in the course catalog, as well as, on the TNCC website. Having the hours of operations placed in multiple locations helps to avoid confusion. The policies for books, instructional material, and informational technologies aren’t printed along with the hours of operations because it’s specific in nature and is explained to you by the Librarians.
The next is Knowledgeable Librarians and Staff which essential to the students understanding and overall success in an academic environment. Having guidance to maneuver through the library and the different systems helps the student to avoid frustration and aides in the achievements of the student.
My interaction with them left me feeling comfortable enough to say that they are extremely knowledgeable with their facility and the specifics of it. They were wonderful at customer service in the way attended to my inquiries and the Librarians gave me a wealth of information on my detailed analyses. TNCC Resource Center offers Tutoring services in Math & Writing, Peer-to-Peer tutoring (by appointment), and the Technology Facility offers software assistance to students, staff, faculty and community patrons. They have instructional seminars on various topics that are current and applicable. The Library provides 10 study rooms, access to computers, laptops, graphing calculators, cameras, media equipment, free scanners, and WEPA printing (fees apply). Furthermore, TNCC delivers a Live on-demand student support called “Smarthinking”, which affords students access to face-to-face tutoring in a multitude of
