The overall educational ministry of the congregation is functional and benefits the majority. The Christian Education Committee takes the time to listen to the concerns of the community and asks for feedback on activities, so that activities may be edited for spiritual growth and expanding knowledge of religion. By listening to the concerns of the congregation and being knowledgeable of the needs of the community, FCCNH promotes spiritual growth through transmitting the tradition, applying faith to lives, and promoting social transformation. The committee at times becomes preoccupied with becoming irrelevant or exclusive. It is important that the activities of the church hold meaning for its congregants. One way in which the ministry could be enhanced at the church is through more open lines of communication and open dialogue. Many times one leader will be planning an event and not share that information. This leads to many events happening over top of one another or events having to be canceled due to a lack of space available. While this seems like an easy fix, getting people to talk can be difficult. There are so many great groups at FCCNH yet there is a division of the community into said groups. By having events so that there is no overlap, people may attend all of the learning opportunities that appeal to them rather than selecting a few. Another suggestion would be for the church to listen to its young members. The youth group has many ideas on how to work in the community and things to do around the church. At times, their voice is silenced due to the older community holding more decision making power and the perceived view of the church that wants to be upheld. This is not an issue unique to FCCNH, but rather widespread. Perhaps a denomination wide, or larger, resource or training needs to be created in order for conversations on the role of youth to be
