The only compliance we have is to the Will of God, mission and commission that Christ has put us under. We have been commissioned to go tell it”-Pastor Jimmy J. Wilson 1. What should our church be known for in this community? 2. What services do your church offer?
Bethel Baptist Church never encountered a challenge like this before. The church accepted an invitation to participate in a mission in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Making an appearance in a foreign environment terrified both adolescents and adults. Even with those uneasy feelings, the congregation quickly zeroed in on the goal at hand in spreading God’s love to this needy region. With events such as church cleanup, food ministry, and disaster relief, the church left with a greater appreciation of life, and how lucky many of the citizens in the United States truly are.

The Sacred Heart Goals express gratitude and faithfulness towards God and Christianity, just as the Prophet Daniel had done so in his time. Daniel lives out the first of the five Sacred Heart Goals, “A Personal and Active Faith in God.” This goal has a strong focus on recognising the importance of showing love, faith and compassion for Jesus Christ and God through prayer and reflection. Daniel had a “Personal and Active Faith in God” which he demonstrated successfully through his faithfulness towards God, Christianity and most importantly his people. Daniel’s personal and active faith was conveyed through his significant messages and visions that had important meanings and warnings for the future.
Leading with Soul is both an inspiring book and a guide for becoming a better leader. The book alternates between telling the story of a leader who is striving to find meaning in his work, and regular interludes, which include summaries, reflective questions, and information regarding various spiritual philosophies. I was exposed to dimensions of leadership I had never previously considered. This paper will reflect upon how Leading with Soul helped me understand the spiritual nature of leadership, identify strategies for nurturing the spiritual side of my own leadership, expand my capacity for assisting others during challenging times, and increase my compassion while working with difficult others.
This is a reflection on Larry Osbornes book, Sticky Church, I did read the entire book. I have enjoyed it and would recommend it. Summary Many churches think they are doing well with all their new visitors and slight rise in attendance.
If we want to be faithful and live like Christians we need to open up conversations about what is happening. We can’t remove ourselves from problems, we need to address it (Mee, 2016). Theologians need to connect people to hope of the coming Kingdom of God. We as the body of Christ need to bring change and inspire change through our actions and words (Mee, 2016). We need to become aware of drug problems in our communities.
In the eighteenth century, English Christianity was experiencing a new phenomenon which would impact the future of Christian practice. The High Anglican Church was episcopal, led by bishops, who ordained priests to perform sacraments and lead parish churches throughout the country. However, some had begun to question this status quo and look for a way to find a religion which was deeper and in greater accordance with the ancient church established shortly after Christ. Many charismatic preachers began to call the people of England to this new movement called popular evangelicalism, which had several significant differences from Anglicanism. First, members of this movement had intense, personal conversion experiences where they realized their
“One of the most widely known symbols of the Christian faith is the cross. It is a figure formed by two intersecting lines. In this version (the Latin, or Roman Catholic cross) the vertical line is longer than the horizontal line” (McClymond, 102). The horizontal line is placed slightly higher than the center of vertical. Individuals within the San Antonio community revere the cross in the same way as most others around and abroad do.

In this field observation I attended a catholic mass of a friend’s church. I was born in a Christian family and never thought that I would ever attend a Sunday catholic mass. I only have one friend who still attends a church, a catholic church. I attended this mass with my friend Paul and his family who are Pilipino. Paul was nice enough to let come to his church to be an observer and a bit of a participant.
As I stepped out of my car, I acknowledge that the church was surrounded by trees, which gave it a calming and peaceful sensation, the building was long with a triangular shaped form, with burgundy bricks surroundings and a bit of white in the front entrance and some at the very top and sides with a dark beige roofing to give the church some color, the windows seemed to be a tinted crystal glass that was designed with blues and a beige color. As I made my way into the church their was an entry room where a man and a women and what seemed to be their two children greeted me and handed me a pamphlet that described what was going to take place in that days Sunday school and mass, then I made my way to another pair of doors where I could hear the choir singing, as I opened the doors the inside of the church was a tan wood looking color all around and had matching tan benches with burgundy red bedding to match the carpet, the thing that stood out most to me when I walked in was the large cross that was in the very front that shined very bright as if the sun was hitting it to give the whole church light, when I looked below the cross, the choir was singing and beside it was a women playing a piano with so much passion and in front of them was a the pastors book stand also a matching tan color with his bible. The people were very kind as I sat down next to a friend that attends that church, they welcomed me with open arms and talked a bit about them self’s and the amount of time
