Wild by Cheryl Strayed Wild is an interesting story covering the life story of Cheryl Strayed. The story begins after Strayed divorce with her husband and the death of her mother. She decides to leave Minneapolis for a trip to unwind and come into terms with her life as it is. She also gets an opportunity to reflect on her life in Minnesota and many memories of her mother, Bobbie Grey. Bobbie die from cancer, and her death greatly affects Charley. The quick turn of events sent her to a deep depression that she used heroin to numb her stress. She also engages in anonymous sex and gets pregnant in the process which ruins her marriage with Paul. She is unhappy with the pregnancy and resolves to abort. After the abortion, she decides to redeem herself by going away. …show more content…

On her first night, she buys the wrong type of gas, and she is unable to prepare a meal. She is social and meets frank a former constructor who invites her to dinner with her family. She finds comfort for the night and has a warm shower. She is also scheduled to meet Greg who is an intense hiker. Upon her arrival, she also meets Ed who convinces to change her boots and take lighter ones and reduces her backpack. Strayed continues to hike irrespective of Greg’s warnings of snowfalls. She removes her boot to remove a loose toenail, and in the process, the boot falls to a deep slope. She continues with the journey wearing sandals held into the place with duct tape. Strayed receive provisions and congratulatory letter due to her positive progress. Paul, her ex-husband, also sends her a letter. In the 58th day, she is running out of the water, and she is licking dew from her tent. She also siphons the little water she can get from a muddy puddle. As she waits for the water to disinfect, two hunters come in, and one of them makes bad remarks that make her feel threatened, and she quickly runs
