The ancient Aztecs had an interesting way of life. They were greatly religious, had a strong powerful government, and on top of all of that, they had a lot of medical/scientific advancements that we still use today. Their powerful government was run like a monarchy and had very sophisticated laws. Religion was the most important to the ancient Aztecs. They had an abundant amount of gods which made them polytheistic and believed in human sacrifice. Last but not least, the ancient Aztecs science and medicine was advanced in the time period that they were in. They had found a cure to many different pains aches and broken/sprained wounds.
The Ancient Aztec worshipped numerous gods and goddesses. They ruled one or more human actions or features of nature. Aztec religion is the Mesoamerican religion practiced by their empire. Like other Mesoamerican religions, it had human sacrifice with connection with a number of festivals. They were held according to patterns of the Aztec calendar. For example, on the feast of Huey Tozoztli, the ruler climbed Mt. Tlaloc and presented in a sacrifice to appeal the rains. …show more content…

The Aztecs used herbal treatments to cure chest pains and many other illnesses. Their way of thinking medically “included liquid rubber in ears for earaches, splints for broken legs, and Obsidian ground glass for wounds”. The Aztecs even figured out that to help treat colds the doctors would sometimes put dew from the fields into the persons (that has that has a cold) nose to treat it.The Aztecs also had a lot of “wive tales”. For example, mothers were expected to carry wood ash to scare off spirits if they were out at night. If a spirit was seen, that could harshly affect your unborn baby.
