Theodore Roosevelt set aside large parts of land to be conserved for future generations rather than be sold or developed. These lands eventually became major national parks and forests, containing wildlife and acres of forests and water. The idea was to ensure the sustainability of natural resources, and what's exactly what happened. The problem is, everything is growing.
In ancient times the Greeks were still divided; one of the reasons because of geographical conditions consisting of islands and mountains separated by seas so that each region could survive independently; in the end, they established a city-state (sovereign city) called a polis that covers the town or city and the surrounding countryside. Mainland Greece is a large peninsula surrounded on three sides by the Mediterranean Sea (branching into the Ionian Sea in the west and the Aegean Sea in the east). With the stress filled lives that we live it is good to have a way of taking time out and relaxing. Greece was known as the "Birthplace of Western Civilization because its culture became the epitome for the succeeding western civilizations. The tale of the ancient Greek civilization is a painful history of foreign supremacy. But their civilization was built on solid foundation and led by efficient leaders that created values and customs that are still being practiced and observed by modern societies. It is for this reason that the Greek civilization flourished, remembered, celebrated and accepted by the whole world. One factor that can be considered as an integral part of the development of Greek civilization is its geography.
However, not everybody agrees with this point of view. Animals and plants are living creature like humans and people should protect them no matter what. If animals and plants are endangered people should spend money to help them, after all they are useful to us and people should have conscience that blame them if they let these species die without even try to help them.
