In the 7th grade a lot of us learned about Ancient Rome and Its giant monuments and its greatest rulers. But after a while, they started to fall. Because the modern U.S. and Ancient Rome have many similarities and differences, the lessons from Ancient Rome could help modern U.S. avoid the fall and collapse that Rome experienced.

One way modern U.S. and Ancient Rome are similar is that they are or where the power of their time. This might affect the U.S. because everyone looks to them for help and when we have our army’s out in the world and not in the U.S. there’s no one to protect our land. In Rome they had all their army’s outside their city’s and they didn’t protect their city’s. Another way they were similar was that they had or have the best technology of their time. One way we know that is because Rome could build these massive buildings and monuments. We know this in America because everyone these days has basically a computer in our pockets. But that’s also a good thing because we don’t want to get our country too big to where we can’t protect our country. Another difference was that Rome didn’t put military bases in other city’s to help them out. This affected them because in the U.S. when we do that we establish a sort of relationship between those country’s. Rome didn’t have many, if at all any relationships between other city’s. The last difference is that the in the U.S. leader doesn’t have absolute power, unlike Rome. This can be bad because it takes a long time to get anything done unlike in Rome if the leader wanted a road the slaves or workers would go start working on
