Andrew Jackson had his time as president, but did he even do a good job? Many people have seen him as “A Man of the People”. Others focus on how he treated Native Americans. One of the things that is talked about most is how he deals with big wars. All these are both true if he did a good and a bad job, but in reality he mostly wasn’t a good president and a man of the people. In order to figure out more about this topic, let's look at the three topics he was he A Man of the People, How he treated Native Americans, and lastly how he dealt with big crisis. To start, how was he “a man of the people”? Well, he honestly wasn’t. He would criticize many people, but mostly Native Americans. People will argue that he just did what he did to protect himself and everyone else, but how did he treat the Native Americans so differently and why did he actually? Well to begin with, he barely had any sympathy for them, we know this because it says “President Andrew Jackson Had little sympathy for Native Americans (Source 2 page 3).” So since he had little sympathy for them during the war. He had persecuted many of these Native Americans again in the Source Jackson’s Treatment of Native people. It had stated “In 1818, Jackson further persecuted native people when he led a war against the seminole tribe for harboring enslaved people that had escaped (source 2 page 3).” People might have argued that he just did this since they were helping slaves and supporting them, but even historians say that this was not a very good manner to do
