1. Andrew Jackson was the third of three sons born, and one more that died before Andrew. Andrew Jackson was named after his late father. Jackson was raised along with other members of their family. Although raised with another family, he knew he did not belong as the others did. His childhood was mostly about war, god and wrestling. Unfortunately, he witnessed much brutality and bloodshed even at a young age. As a young boy, Andrew Jackson was the only surviving son. Both of his brothers died at the hands of the British. Soon after his brother’s deaths, his mother left to care for his cousins and never returned. The Jackson haters continued to attack not only him, but his wife and his mother who was already dead. He could not understand how people were able to speak poorly of his mother when his mother was a very strong woman who gave Andrew Jackson much of his strength. His haters also targeted his wife and felt she was unfit to be the president’s wife. The constant personal attacks on his will eventually this caused her to have a heart attack; she passed away just a few days after. Jackson knew that she supported and believed in him and wanted to honor her and his mother by becoming the President they expected him to be. Jackson was orphaned as a child, and valued family in his personal and political life. Nothing was more important to him than being a family man. Losing his father first was hard to begin with, but he also had to watch his mother take over as the head of the household caring for him and his brothers. His family eventually moved in with family member to ease some of the burdens. Not long after, the British invaded the Carolinas, and Jackson’s 2 brothers died leaving him as the only surviving son. His childhood was mostly about war, god and wrestling. Unfortunately, he witnessed much brutality and bloodshed even at a young age. Although he did not have much of a formal education, he learned important lessons in life that led him to be a great leader. He worked as hard as he could to improve his prospects in life. With the hard work, he gave himself the opportunity to become a lawyer and eventually became a judge. With that, he always wanted to give back and serve
