Andy Warhol was a famous pop artist renowned for his abilities to make everyday objects look more interesting and out of the ordinary by repeating them several times. He was an American artist, born on August 6, 1928, and died on February 22, 1987. Andy Warhol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he received education at Schenley High School. In third grade, he had gotten St. Vitus’ Dance, a disease where the nervous system could make involuntary movements. During the time he was confined to bed because of the illness, he drew pictures and listened to the radio. Later on in his life, Warhol said that during that time he has gained the inspiration for what he does to his artworks. After graduating from high school, Warhol’s intentions were to become an art teacher, but this changed when he wanted to was to study art education at the University of Pittsburgh because he had wanted to study commercial art at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh. There he became the art director of the school art magazine, Cano, having made the cover and interior illustration in the magazines. He normally creates pop art, especially ones with numerous pictures of the same piece of art. The culture around the 1960s had celebrity culture and advertisements that Warhol used in his art. He took a liking to taking one photo of an ordinary object and changing the colour or replicating it. The pop culture had begun in the 1950s and Warhol was becoming famous for his whimsical shoe paintings and advertisements.
