Animal Rights Animal rights are a big issue in the world. People think animals aren’t like people because they think they don’t have emotions. Some people think otherwise. In some states, the law takes action for it, in other states they applaud it. There is a lot of different types of animal rights, this paper will cover three points; Animal Cruelty, Factory Farming, and Animal Experimentation. In the U.S. People hurt and kill animals, 32.4% animals are neglected ("Cruelty Against Animals"). Every day in the United States animals are beaten, neglected, or forced to struggle for survival. Over 99% of farm animals in the U.S. are raised in factory farms. A factory farm is a big, industrial operation that raises large numbers of animals for food. Factory’s these days cram animals in small cages, windowless sheds, and get beat. The animals have no room to move at all or lie down which causes pain in their joints and bones. These animals will never breathe fresh air or feel the sunlight on them except for the day they’re loaded into trucks on the way to the slaughterhouse. The animals are given antibiotics to grow faster and stay alive in their horrible conditions. The animals are always in constant fear and torment at the farms. At the factory many of the animals are still conscious during the hair removal or de-feathering process, they plunge them into scalding hot water while their skin is getting skinned or hacked apart (“Factory Farming: Misery for Animals”). Everyone should eat organic meat if you’re going to eat meat at all. Scientist test products on animals, mostly rats, mice, and rabbits, to see if it’s going to be harmful to humans. Scientist use animals to experiment on to inject diseases and try to find out what can cure it. They experiment on animals because they think animals don’t have emotions or a life. They sometimes like to use monkeys for experimentation since monkeys are closer to humans in genes and bodily functions.
