Some say that animal experimentation is good for us but is it good for the animals? Animal experimentation is cruel to the animals but not many people can see that because all they are thinking about is themselves. People use animals to test human products on them to see if they would be good for us but how do the animals feel when we hurt them like that? Animals are our companions and they were always meant to be our companions but lately the most they have been used for is animal testing.
Animal experimentation is unacceptable because it is unethical. The article “Animal Experimentation” it states, “many people object to the use of animals in scientific studies because the animals are denied their freedom and often suffer serious injury and discomfort.” People disagree with animal experimentation because the animals do not have the freedom to choose. Animals cannot speak for themselves to tell whether or not they want to get tested on, because of this then the animals that are tested on suffer a lot of discomfort and injuries. Another reason why animal experimentation is unethical because it is unreliable.
Animal testing has lead to countless scientific advancements and saved millions of lives. Many people have very different viewpoints on this topic that continues to be debated today. Some say that animal testing is cruel, inhumane, and ineffective while others say that it is humane and advances the medical field greatly. Animal testing should continue as is because of its educational and safety benefits. The first argument for animal testing is that it that scientists can learn so much from it and make crucial advancements in many fields.
I think that we should not test on animals because they should have freedom like humans. Also animals have families to take care of then being tested. They need to be at their home and not to be tested. The animals probable don’t like being tested on because they are taken away from their homes. Thade problem is that the animals that are tested on don’t have a choice on being a test dummy.adw The animals should live free in the wild instead of being tested on.
Opponents of animal testing say that it is inhumane and barbaric. Personally, reasonable experiments on animal testing that are for the benefit of mankind, are morally acceptable. Any acts of animal testing that help humans survive and grow
Kori Winfield Miss Porterfield English 11H March 27 2023 Animal Testing is Wrong! “Animals are such agreeable friends—they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms,” - George Eliot. This quote from Eliot is saying that the animals won't judge you even if you are doing wrong, they are truly “a man’s best friend.” They (the animals) do not know the difference between wrong and right. Animals from all over the world are being tested for the “benefits” of humans.
We should be able to experiment on animals because of what they can provide us with.. Even though there are some allegations of animals being treated in a cruel way, we should be able to use animals in experiments because animal research is highly regulated, with laws in place to protect animals from mistreatment. Animal testing has helped produce treatments and cures to save lives. The California Biomedical Research Association states that a majority of medical breakthroughs have been linked to animal testing (CBRA Fact Sheet: Why Are Animals Necessary in Biomedical Research?). The polio vaccine was used on animals and reduced 350,000 cases in 1988 to only 27 cases in 2016 (who.int).
Animal testing has been used by scientists to test drugs and makeup products for many years. They have been kept in labs, poked, prodded at, observed, forced to inhale, eat, and wear substances that have killed them. Millions of animals have died each year because of this testing, and it needs to be stopped. Animal testing should not be continued because it is ineffective, it wastes lives, and is inhumane. Animal testing needs to be discontinued because it is ineffective.
The opponents ' evidence is unreliable in that the studies of animal testing were conducted in 2010, and since then, laws and techniques have been changed to help prevent animal cruelty. Since laws have been implemented, scientists are taking precautions to prevent animal cruelty. It is obvious that these precautions are yielding good results because cures are being found. Additionally, it would be even more cruel to test on humans as well as more expensive. There are many consequences to human testing.
Animal Experimentation is ethical There has been an ongoing debate whether animal experimentation is ethical and should be allowed. While many people disagree with it because they claim that it is ethically wrong to experiment on animal, many people disagree and think it should continue to be allowed. Those who favor animal experimentation argue that the benefits outweigh the negatives. Animal testing has led to a significant increase in medical discoveries and has saved millions of lives.
Animals have similar anatomy to humans, but it is still vastly different. What works on an animal could have a totally different effect on humans. For example, according to the FDA, Vioxx, a drug used to treat arthritis, was found to be safe when tested in monkeys (and five other animal species) but has been estimated to have caused around 320,000 heart attacks and strokes and 140,000 deaths worldwide. This proves that medical testing on animals isn’t necessarily beneficial considering the physiological differences between man and animal. But that’s not the only case of medical testing gone wrong.
Should animals have a bill of rights? No they shouldn’t since it would stop medical research .The enjoyment of zoos and aquariums would be gone if they got any rights. The amount of food we eat would change and we might not be able to eat animals. If animals got rights would we be able to have pets?
Many people have different ideas on animal testing and if it is or is not appropriate for medical research. Many disagree, but there are some that think it’s necessary for testing to be done. Animal testing is necessary because it helps develop life saving medical treatments for not only humans, but animals, and it helps determine how medicine will react to the human body. Animal testing is appropriate for medical research because testing helps develop life saving medical treatments for humans. Without testing, scientist wouldn’t have found ways to help people with breast cancer or childhood Leukemia.
In this essay, I will analyse current and past animal testing in science and prove that it is a cruel and unnecessary means of research. Animal testing has been in practice under different names - from sacrifices to witchcraft to science - from at least 500BC. Still, animal testing exists and should be eradicated as it inflicts pain upon animals and without any significant benefit to science. Animals don’t deserve to be treated with such cruelty. With modern technology I, and I’m sure many other people, are wondering, why animals are still being tortured, murdered and imprisoned when the media and scientific community are continuously boasting about the newest breakthroughs and discoveries.
Animals Testing Is animal testing necessary?. Should we ban expending animals in medical research or not?. More than 26 million animals are used in different countries like the United States and Canada. Animal testing may by defining as the use of animals in experiments and research that seeks to control the variable that impacts the behavior or biological system under study. Using large number of animals is mainly meant to find treatments and cure for certain diseases.
