Anne Frank’s Story Anne Frank can be described as many things, heroic, optimistic, outspoken, this list goes on and on. She was a young Jewish girl that had to grow up in a terrible time for her family. Her parents names were Edith and Otto Frank, she also had an older sister named Margot. Anne and her family were forced to go into hiding when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi’s took over Germany. Their story is truly inspirational to all people. Anne Frank is one of the most well known Holocaust victims in history. In January of 1933, Hitler became chancellor of Germany. Hitler and his Nazis put a series of rules persecuting Jews into place. Starting in October 1940, Jews had to wear a yellow Star of David at all times and had to endure a strict …show more content…

Before going into the annex the family left false traces showing they may have fled to Switzerland. Soon after that they were joined by family friends Hermann van Pels, his wife Auguste, and their son Peter. Then after that Fritz Pfeffer, a Jewish dentist, joined the families in the attic. A lot of people are curious as to how they survived in there for the amount of time they did and the answer is Miep Gies. She risked her own life to help the Franks by getting them food and basically anything else they needed for the amount of time they were in there. As well as keep the families up to date on what was going on in the outside world. Throughout their time in the annex Anne tried to remain as positive as possible. This quote by Anne Franks shows her main perspective on everything that was going on:

I see the world slowly transformed into a wilderness; I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too. I feel the suffering of millions.
