This work of literary criticism focuses and discusses on Doctor Faustus as a man of Renaissance. It gives you examples and quotes of Doctor Faustus described as a Renaissance man. Not only does it talk about the great aspects of Dr Faustus as a Renaissance man but it gives you the scene in which he connects to each and every one of them. In some ways it is very helpful but it you want to analyze The Tragic History of Dr Faustus, it wouldn’t be much helpful. This work would be very helpful for the students who are questioning what Dr Faustus and how he is connected with the renaissance and the time of period. Faustus appears as a man of renaissance in the very opening scene when rejecting the traditional subject of study, he turns to magic. In other words, Faustus puts into an old legend a new meaning in which he insets into the medieval and Christian morals and ambiguous dynamic of the Renaissance.
