HIGHFIELD, TIM. "Tweeted Joke Life Spans And Appropriated Punch Lines: Practices Around Topical Humor On Social Media." International Journal Of Communication (19328036) 9.(2015): 2713-2734. Communication & Mass Media Complete. Web. 18 Nov. 2015. Humor on social media is very time sensitive and the joke is constantly changing. During world events or after breaking news happens, jokes and memes will pop up social media almost instantly, but they won’t be there for a very long time. There is a very distinct line between when humor is first used on humor and when it is no longer funny anymore. I plan to use this source to gain knowledge and evidence of how social media is so different from regular humor, and how it’s fast paced nature is reflective of the our own fast paced lives.

Isaacowitz. "Age-Related Differences In Judgments Of Inappropriate Behavior Are Related To Humor Style Preferences." Psychology And Aging 29.3 (2014): 528-541. PsycINFO. Web. 18 Nov. 2015. This article from Psychology And Aging presents an experiment regarding how the age differences between people have an affect of their perception of something being funny. Age also plays a part in both preferences and understanding of humor, and the evidence shows particular humor styles preferred by different age groups. This evidence will help me to explain the role humor plays in how generations differ and how they communicate with each other. This article will also help me to analyze the style of humor in social media and if that plays a part in whether older generations use social media or not.
