In result, their life expectancy is lower even at such an early age. Therefore, the importance of community outreach program is acknowledged and the roles of nurses are expected to advocate healthy aging. Different themes were presented in the research study led to some nurses in the program. In this research article “Promoting Healthy Aging of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities” by Roll and Bowers, a qualitative case study was held to examine the community outreach nursing programs offered by the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service. This community outreach nursing program assists people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The research was conducted as the authors wanted to seek responses about the program. First, how is one community nursing outreach program developed to promote healthy aging for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities? There are still significant barriers present up to this day that prevents greater access to quality health care and achievement of desired outcomes.Such barriers include lack of formal training for health care providers, communication deficits between providers and patients, complex and unnecessarily complicated financing systems that limit access to appropriate care, and health care providers that lack awareness about steps they might take to ensure that people with intellectual or developmental disabilities have access to appropriate competent care. This is an article that provides awareness for the readers about the lack of education and preparation for some nurses and the deinstitutionalization of these individuals. But somehow created a review and gives information on an available program to establish the support needed for a fully integrated care for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The author provides the readers with insight on some relevant and needed themes to provide the quality of life care. They presented practical considerations that range from specific health care delivery that the community outreach nursing program offers. The layout of the information was easy to read and displayed a format that makes it easy to use
