In the PHI, Inc. (2013) Annual Report, the company uses some graphic design elements, photographs of aircraft fleet additions, a chart to illustrate stock price performance, and tables within the Form 10-K to summarize financial or numerical information. The company relies heavily on the summarization tables throughout the Form 10-K portion of the report in order to convey large amounts of data in an easy-to-read format. PHI’s annual report is not overly stylistic or attractive, consisting primarily of the Form 10-K document, with minimal additional information or visuals included.

Although the letter is very professional, it seems more personal than the PHI, Inc. Annual Report’s letter. It is possible that it seems more personal because there is a picture of the person who wrote it next to the letter. In the Annual Report from PHI, Inc., the letter from the CEO is somewhat brief with only four paragraphs and includes pictures of aircraft fleet additions made that year, instead of a picture of the CEO. The letter discusses the company’s ongoing strategy in the sectors and geographies that it operates in, with additional information about its safety program. The letter does not mention anything specific about personnel.
