As discussed in the article by Clive Thompson, many people use different ways of speaking. Based on text conversations, social media posts, and comments language has made a drastic change. TBH grammar has made like a huge change on society. Lookin at billboards and social media, people post is a totally diff manner than speaking. Lol I remember the last conversation I had with my aunt that lives in Charleston, SC.
The first day of college was different for me since it started during the summer. My writing skills in the beginning of the class weren 't as strong as they are now. I knew college would be a much more difficult than high school because there would be a larger work load. The diagnostic essay was the first essay I wrote in college. I was really worried about the results I would get on a college level.

The first activity is interactive to create a basic awareness of the nonverbal concept of touch. The students will be paired up in two and sit facing each other, although their eyes will be closed. The teacher will instruct the students to hold their hands up in front of them, and to touch flatly their partner’s hand. Keeping in mind their eyes are to remain closed and are supposed to use their hands to communicate throughout this entire activity, the teacher should instruct the students to say “hello” to their partner’s hands. Then instruct the students to have an argument, and afterwards have the pairs make up and say sorry.
You should approach your high school english assignments with confidence. If you doubt your own work, it will never get done. When I was an underclassmen in high school, I would often spend hours working on smaller assignments that could be done in thirty or forty minutes. Although the style of writing in AP English weren't realistic to an actual college class, I learned to trust my writing abilities, and use the feedback from my teacher to improve my writing. Never try to write or read when you are tired.
The purpose of this memo is to discuss in a reflective manner, my experience with the English 235 course and what it has given me in my college education. Food deserts are known as poor urban areas where the residents within the poor areas cannot purchase affordable, healthy food, the term food deserts was constructed to illustrate why policy makers need to look more critically at the nutrition difficulties in low-income areas (Cummins,2002). A gap in health is embedded into the interrelationship of racism, culture and the historical, economic, and political structures that make for the experience of African Americans and other racial and ethnic groups within the United States (Lewis et al., 2011). The English 1300 class has helped me to improve and develop my writing skills in several ways. Primarily this class has helped to reduce the stresses that I have always felt when a report or essay was asked for. Contributing and being involved in this class will have substantial influence in future English classes and all classes no matter what the subject. I have discovered that my previous classes in High School served only as minimal effort and upon entering college the rules have been amplified and are crucial to a timely completion of your classes and ultimately college. I believe that I am decently prepared for the college level reading and writing that takes place within English 101. There are several aspects of learning that I feel confident in and it creates a sense of preparedness in me for this course. There are a couple points to learning that I have yet to grasp and this leaves me feeling ill-prepared for the course. Flexibility and openness are two of the habits of mind included within Framework for Success in Postsecondary Writing that I feel confident in, while persistence and engagement are two of the habits of mind that I believe I need a little more practice with. Having confidence within a couple of the habits of mind is a great start towards me becoming successful in English 101.
To the person who unfortunately has to read this: After about 6 hours of sleep, I woke up at 6:40 AM to get ready for probably the most difficult English exam I’ve ever taken. Since I’d already taken 2 other exams in the the previous days, I felt prepared to take this one. It was my last exam, so I expected it to be straightforward and easy ...right?
Tawney Nodland – As I look back over the past semester of English Composition, I realize that I have grown as a writer. Not onlyhas my understanding of the writing process changed, my whole attitude towards composition has too. This composition course has made a significant impact on my learning experience and has given me tools to take forward into my future educational and professional goals. Throughout this course, I have discovered things about myself as a writer and know some of my strengths and weaknesses. I now feel more prepared for future writing assignments, whether for work or for school.
English 1121 has helped me to become an enhanced reader and writer. I now have confidence in my writing and reading abilities. I never realized that I could become a good writer. A tremendous amount of effort was put forth into each of my papers and I asked questions whenever I was frazzled. I strived for success.
Having the opportunity to write a variety of different essay styles has challenged me to improve my writing techniques even slightly. Having good credible sources was another technique I learned and improve. For most of my work, I used to go to Google, and just type whatever it is I was looking for, and usually I do not end up with that much great information. Now I start searching for information in databases because they are credible and more reliable.
My journey in this English 3001 course during the past ten weeks, and over the course of taking is English class I have grown and learned more that I thought it is necessary for me to know as a student.
