Ares was the god of war. He was the son of Zeus and Hera. He was married to Aphrodite. He was an Olympian deity. Prisoners of war were sacrificed to him.
His Roman name is also Apollo and he was also the god of prophecy, medicine, and music. Apollo was often found in his sanctuary at Delphi, in the sun chariot, or on Mt. Olympus. Apollo has many powers in the myths, including prophecy, the gift Apollo was one of many children of Zeus, the king of the gods and a huge player. His mother was Leto a titan who was one lot Zeus girlfriends. Hera, Zeus wife banned Leto from having the baby on land.
Before Zeus was the king of the gods, he was raised by a magic goat named Amalthea, some things called Kouretes, and a few nymphs. When he grew up, he overthrew his father and saved his brothers and sisters. He and two of his other brothers became the rulers of the sky, the sea, and the Underworld, and Zeus became the ruler of them all. He was wise, according to the myths, and solved many disputes. Even though Zeus was just the leader of the gods and goddesses the humans saw him as their leader as well because he was in control of most things in Greece. I choose Apollo his theme ’s are some what the same as zeus, but he has more drama. Apollo is the most beautiful god, god of light, the “most greek” god of all and plays music on his beautiful golden lyre. Apollo had many friends in his life and one theme is because of one of them. Apollo’s theme is one of the most important themes in the entire book, and it show something most important in friendship.
He was born from Maia as the son of Zeus, the leader of all the Greek Gods and one of the big three. “After Hermes was delivered he took a turtle shell, carved holes into it, and added strings on to make it into the famous lyre. ”(Guerber 112) This lyre has gone onto be very commonly associated to Hermes. The lyre is known as the sign of Hermes as it can be seen being held in almost every picture and portrait done of the God.

Cronus, one of the most interesting greek gods there is. Romans called him Saturn, he was the lord of the universe. He has Quite a few features about him that make him stand out and makes him more interesting than the others, his family history, unique personality, and symbols that represent him, all make him one of a kind. Ouranos, and gaia, gave birth to Cronus, which then gave birth to Rhea. Cronus and Rhea had 7 children after that.
