I am writing you in response to your question regarding how certain calcium supplements will interact with levothyroxine so that you can finish developing your clinical trial. As you likely know, understanding organic chemistry interactions such as acidity and basicity is vital for deciding how compounds interact. Levothyroxine is a drug which is used to treat hypothyroidism, and many patients taking this drug simultaneously take calcium supplements. Understanding how multiple drugs interaction is important to know whether there will be any undesirable effects. I plan to explain how calcium carbonate and calcium citrate supplements interact differently with levothyroxine and how the environment of the stomach and small intestine affects its absorption.

According to surgeon and Master of Public Health Atul Gawande, the morbidly obese should consider Roux-en-Y gastric-bypass surgery (Gawande 187). In “The Man Who Couldn’t Stop Eating,” Gawande describes Vincent Caselli’s gastric-bypass operation as well as his complete recovery. He explains what a Roux-en-Y gastric-bypass is, and retells several personal accounts from his experience as a surgeon. Throughout the article, Gawande gives many facts about the surgery, stating that many problems can arise during the recovery phase. Overall, many people lose at least two-thirds of their weight in a year; however, in rare cases, people can regain their weight or even exceed their original weight (194, 196).
Beta Blockers are beta-adrenergic blocking agents. They are medications that reduce your blood pressure. Beta blockers work by blocking the effects of the hormone adrenaline and noradrenaline. When a person with hypertension takes a beta blocker, the heart beats more slowly and with less force, reducing the blood pressure. The heart contains beta 1 cells and the lungs contain beta 2 cells.
As respiratory therapist we will have the ability to deliver three types of bronchodilators depending on symptoms the patient is displaying or as a maintenance drug in diseases like COPD, emphysema and cystic fibrosis. It is vital that we know which medication works best in each circumstance. Beta-agonists are medications that use the beta-2 receptors in our airway in order to help smooth muscle relaxation and bronchodilation. The beta-agonists primarily affect the bronchioles (small airways). These medications are usually given by inhalations, pills, tablets and intravenously, but most frequently by inhalation due to less side-effects.
Uneducated and unknowing, these traits represent the subset of people who fall victim to those that know the truth. Knowledge is power. This unarguable truth, known by the mass-majority, leaves a population in awe when scandles arise within the food industry. From inhumane practices on animals, to concoctions of chemicals in everyday food, society demands change when information comes through. But, big industries keep a multitude of secrets behind their locked laboratory and factory doors.
With the rise of the “ice epidemic” and media accounts of the terrible impacts of methamphetamine, its legitimate medical uses has been relegated to the background. Methamphetamine is highly addictive and affects the central nervous system, (NIDA, 2013). The drug is classified as a Schedule 8 or dangerous drug of addiction (DDA) in Australia due to its high potential for abuse. It is only available through a doctor’s prescription in America (Medical News Today, 2014). Thus, this essay will investigate whether methamphetamine should be used to treat obesity using the medicine, desoxyn.

Jacqueline Zamora Mr. Bowman AP English Language and Composition 27 July 2023 A Certain Hunger The book A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers is a prison memoir written from the perspective of a cannibalistic renowned food critic. By making a five-star meal out of them afterwards, she feels a sort of connection to her ex-lovers and it alleviates a sense of loss the average person would experience after a breakup.

Reality of Anti-Depressant Use It may startle you to know that of every mental disorder in the United States of America, anxiety disorders are the most common (“Anxiety”). “Anxiety is often a health response to uncertainty and danger, but constant worry and nervousness can be a sign of another trouble, internal rather than external” (“Generalized Anxiety Disorder: Toxic Worry” 1). There are many adolescents who struggle with mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression and take anti-depressants to help them cope, but the safety of such drugs on developing bodies is debatable.
