We propose Arcadia Cafe should bring samples of their pour over coffee and homemade pastries on to Iowa State’s campus in the free-speech zone, aka Agora, so that students can be made aware that Aracida exists. Arcadia wants to bring in more college aged students and emerging young professionals. A majority of their customers now are ladies getting lunch, church groups and other middle aged to older people. In order for customers to become regulars at Arcadia, they need to start going during their college years, and for that to work, we need to help students develop a relationship with Arcadia. This would hopefully draw people in to watch, and then give them a chance to taste the unique coffee for themselves. In order to initiate the homemade pastries, there will be a small oven with all the sample pastries in it. This gives the effect that the pastries are coming straight out of the oven even though they will be pre made. This would also keep the pasties warm which would give a better idea of what a fresh pastry would taste like if they went to Arcadia. Other reasons students might come to Arcadia;s booth are the smell of coffee and pastries, the convince of the location, and the fact that it will be free. This publication would meet our needs because we are trying to appeal to students. This story is important to students because it demonstrates proximity because Arcadia is so close to campus. It also demonstrates timeliness because we would mention the upcoming event on campus. In the news release we will talk about what makes Arcadia unique and why students should want to go there. Specifically, we will say that they make all of their pastries homemade, how they have a bar as well as coffee and a restaurant, and also how they offer pour over coffee which is unique for coffee shops. We will purposefully not include things like their limited wifi allowance and prices. The prices at Arcadia are somewhat comparable to Starbucks; however, it seems like more because it is not something customers know they will like because it’s not a chain
