Loyalty, A Double-Edged Sword What is loyalty? Loyalty is often telling a person whatever they want to hear, and sometimes loyalty can kill. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence tries to stop the feud between Montagues and Capulets by using their only children. After he tries to help he continues his loyalty to Romeo and Juliet. He tries to help them run away together.
Are you so loyal to someone or something that you are willing to devote most of your time to that one person or thing? How much would you sacrifice for that one person or thing? In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare the two star-crossed lovers are loyal to each other but are they too loyal? Loyalty can be both good and bad.
Many characters in movies have fatal flaws that cause their story to elongate and become increasingly more difficult. In the Odyssey, Odysseus’ pride gets in the way of his men and himself returning home. But two characters specifically have fatal flaws that destroy their entire lives, Romeo and Juliet. Factors such as irrationality, hastiness, and infatuation all stop Romeo and Juliet from getting their storybook ending. But perhaps the two most fatal flaws in the entire tragedy are the Montague and Capulet feud, and fate that Romeo and Juliet were destined to perish.
Individuals tend to strive for a loving relationship with a significant other. Many people seemingly only focus on the positive aspects of these relationships, but never the cons. However, both are prevalent and there can be many internal and external influences that affect individuals. In his play Romeo and Juliet, author William Shakespearre explores the idea that people who are conflicted by love and or opposing families tend to display violent traits and commit violent acts that dictate future events, often due to their passion and loyalty they must keep hidden. The author demonstrates this idea clearly through the characters: Romeo, Juliet, and Tybalt.
For generations, many Americans have seen their country as a haven for immigrants, a “melting pot,” of different cultures. These different cultures and traditions brought from countries across the world shaped the modern American identity, some would argue. While it is true many cultures from Europe, Africa, Latin America, etc. have contributed to molding the modern American society, immigration history is marred by resistance. Patterns in immigration throughout American history have created a culture de jour that is at the center for the most ardent opposition. From the Irish, to the Asians, and now Hispanics, it is easy to interchange the culture or race, while keeping the hysteria in any given decade from America’s past.
I think that Romeo and Juilet have gone through their ups and downs throughout this play but at the end of the day I think that they have a healthy relationship. An example from the play is that when Romeo saw her for the first time he thought she was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. And really does fall in love with her at first sight. After he sees her for the first time he says “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night as a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear beauty too rich for use, for earth to dear” (1.5. 43-46).This shows that this is going to be the start to a healthy relationship because before he ever even talks to her Romeo is talking very highly of her and is saying he is falling
The story of ‘Romeo and Juliet' is indeed a tragedy assured from the elements such as Character Flaws, Fate and Great Sorrow. The important element that makes a Shakespearean play is Character Flaw's since it directly affects the character's actions and abilities. The role of Fate is a crucial part of this tragedy play since it links with everyone within the story. Great Sorrow in this play are portrayed in a variety of ways, but specifically death. In fact, throughout the play, these three elements if you think about it are in every single Shakespearean tragedy.
I believe that Romeo seems brash, naive, and reckless because of his hasty decision to move to Juliet so shortly after losing interest Rosaline. He seems to live his life out on a whim without much real regard for himself, the people around him, and his surroundings. He is caught up in his own fervour, not realising what he is doing is ludicrous. His heedlessness perfectly exemplifies the strength of love. Love can ultimately force people to do things they otherwise wouldn’t, it can invoke thoughts and ideas that make little to no sense.
Love in the 1300s is like a protective boyfriend, except that boyfriend is Lord Capulet and the girlfriend in the relationship is his daughter Juliet. She has a love life influenced by her father until she deeply expresses her love for Romeo in the play Romeo and Juliet. In the play, there are certain standards that Juliet and other women live by. This includes loyalty to their parent’s decisions and serving men. Today, these standards are outrageous because of our new society that recognizes women as equal to men.
The character Juliet in Shakespeare’s play “Romeo and Juliet” cannot be categorized into a standard good or bad character because she makes mistakes that ultimately end her life, but this is a product of her age, not her character and attitude. First and foremost, Juliet is determined, which could be a positive or negative trait. It is Juliet who initiates all the madness of the marriage to Romeo saying “If that bent of love be honorable, thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow” in act two, scene two, which could be connotated negatively. On the flip side, it is a positive trait when it comes to being determined in denying to marry Count Paris while already being married to Romeo. Secondly, Juliet possesses an unfortunate impulsivity known

How strong can a marriage be? What is essential for a successful marriage? The scene is in Italy in the 1590’s where women are bound for an arranged marriage. Although there wasn’t a say in the marriage, not all of them were successful. This could have been due to the emotional or mental qualities of the married women.
In the world that we live in today, there are many things that we face daily. Whether it be illness, love or just bad decisions, everybody encounters them and many more. Rash decisions are made on a very common basis among people. A lot of stuff affect the decisions you make. May it be, being too young and not having enough experience to make good decisions, or just the lack of care of the outcome.
William Shakespeare created ironically these immortal characters who died in the end of the book. but the well-known couple has survived on plays and on movies. The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was one of the most successful catastrophic event of all time. Because it has an amazing plot, lots of romance, and like in all William Shakespeare story’s complex and rich words.
would say at the ages of 13-14 is a great time to slowly allow your child a bit more lead way on making big decisions. As time progresses your child should be able to prove themselves capable of making positive, and smart decisions for themselves. By the ages of !6-17 would be a great time for them to be making bigger decisions on their own, so by the age of 18 the child should be able to almost purely make decisions on their own. From my personal opinion, I feel as if children who are more sheltered during their adolescence stage are the children who become more wild once they go to college or turn 18."
