One man's desire to kill does not come from the genetics of their own nor birth. Dating back hundreds of years ago serial killers have been documented. Though none was publicly seen until the 19th century, Dr. Kraft-Ebing had created the first textbook about violent offenders and their violent actions. However, the debate on whether a serial killer is born or made wasn’t questioned until the 18th century, in which the answer is clear, with abuse from the childhood, or the mental illnesses given, even the famous nature vs nurture, serial killers are made, not born.
To begin with, the environment and trauma given to one can cause a killer drive to spike. An important factor of all humans life’s is their childhood. Humans are always developing, the development of social life starts when little. A hard childhood, such as abuse can cause one’s development to turn violent which can lead to a phycopath, turning into a serial murder. Though not every psychopath becomes a serial killer, most serial killers have the characteristics of a physco. The MAOA gene is a type of gene you may see in serial killers. The tense breaks down molecules, specifically serotonin. The mutation can cause impulses to be harder to contain when it becomes strong enough, explaining the impulses to kill others. To illustrate “This gene has been associated with various psychiatric disorders.
