Technology is slowly taking over and ruling our lives. In today's world, most people are addicted to their phones and devices. For some, it’s a real challenge for them to stay off their phones. Back in the day when there was little to none technology, writer H. G. Wells wrote a book called The War of the Worlds. In this book, the author almost predicting this future writing about martians with very powerful weapons and technology. The weapons and advanced technology that he writes about relates to our powerful technology and military weapons today. H. G. Wells is warning the reader about the potential dangers of technology. He tries to warn us about what terrible things could possibly come out of the technology that we create.

In the book, The War of the Worlds, the martians are very powerful. They destroy and kill large numbers of innocent humans. The martians are extremely hard to kill. One of the three martians killed was killed by accident. The other two were shot and killed by a ironclad named The Thunderchild. Many underestimate the martians. Near the beginning of the book, the martians come out and appear harmless away from the pit. The narrator says, “they are the most sluggish things I ever saw crawl. They may keep the pit and kill people who come near them, but they cannot get out of it…. But the horror of them!” The narrator is stating that as long as they keep their distance, they will not be harmed. He also says that they are very sluggish and not a pleasant sight.The martians would capture the humans in metal cages attached to their back. They would suck the blood out of the humans and inject it into their own bodies to eat and gain nutrients.
